The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) is a global Pentecostal church that was founded in Nigeria in 1952 by Reverend Josiah Akindayomi. The church started as a small prayer group, but it has since grown into a large denomination with branches in over 190 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and South Africa. RCCG is known for its strong emphasis on prayer, evangelism, and community service.
The current General Overseer of the RCCG is Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, who took over the leadership of the church in 1981. Under his leadership, RCCG has experienced tremendous growth both in Nigeria and around the world. The church’s headquarters is located in Lagos, Nigeria, and is known as the Redemption Camp.
RCCG is a vibrant and dynamic church that is committed to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world. The church has a strong focus on prayer and fasting and is known for its periodic prayer and fasting programs such as the annual 50-day fasting and prayer program.
In addition to its spiritual activities, RCCG is also involved in various community service programs. These include the provision of free medical services, the construction of schools and hospitals, and the distribution of relief materials to people affected by natural disasters.
